Batman: The Dark Knight Vol.1: Knight Terrors

Out of all of the Batman solo titles, this is probably the worst of them. What's the plot? Most of Batman's more famous villians escape from Arkham and they all have super stragth. Yep it's the same plot as Batman: Arkham Asylum (video game.) It's pretty much something that doesn't need to be read, unless you like to see Batman fight against his more well known super villains.

Worth reading?: It's OK
Worth waiting for Vol.2?:No

Batman Vol.1: The Court of Owls

This is an amazing book that is part of a fantastic series. Sorry, no spoilers for this one. Just take my word for it.

Worth reading?: Hell yes!
Worth waiting for Vol.2?:Most definitly.

Batman: Detective Comics Vol. 1: Faces of Death

Batman: Detective Comics Vol. 1: Faces of Death (The New 52)

Well on to our next series in The New 52, it's Detective Comics! One of 5 Batman solo books. So our story begins with Joker torturing a guy, similer to the way he tortured Jason Todd. Batman comes in and for the rest of the first chapter an endless chase to capture the Joker. But all good things must come to an end and the Joker is sent back to Arkham, until the very end when the Joker escapes as usual. Leaving nothing behind but his entire face.

One bit of warning this is a pretty gory book so if you have a kid who is interested in Batman, this is not something to be read by kids. As for everyone else it's good. Not great but good. But we still have a few other Batman books to look at. But until then a quick opinion:

Worth reading?: Yes
Worth waiting for Vol. 2?: Only if you like this Vol.

Casino Royale

Casino Royale (Two-Disc Widescreen Edition)

I'm going to say this first before I get to my review here, I am not a James Bond fan. So I figured since this is a Reboot of the film series, and that I've heard nothing but good things about this movie, that it might make me a fan, and to finally see what every 007 fan has been talking about. So our movie starts off with Bond beatting the shit out of someone, I'm guessing to explain to new comers how much he's a bad-ass. We then get neat looking opening credits, then a chase sequence. Then after that Bond sent on a mission to find our villian  Le Chiffre because he's stealing money from terrorist in a game of poker, could someone explain to me how that's a bad thing. And for the majority of the movie James Bond is playing Poker. When do we get back to the part where Bond is beating bad guys up. Oh the last 15 Minutes of the movie.

I just don't see why everyone says this movie's great, I thought it was disappointing.

By the way, if this guy suppose to be the greatiest spy ever known, how come everyone knows who he is?

Rating:  Watch it on TV if it is on.

Justice League Vol. 1: Origin

Justice League, Vol. 1: Origin (The New 52)

It was the year 2011, the month September. Every comic book store was celebrating the big reboot that DC comics set out to do and this was our introduction to this new DC Universe. And from the first issue, some are already confused. Our story starts and still to this day "5 years ago." 5 years ago from what? 5 years before the last JL issue, 5 year before the very 1st JL issue, either way the story is about how the members of the Justice League first met each other and teamed up to defeat Darkseid. It give new readers a chance to be introduced to the big major charactor without the need to give each one a origin story, well except for Cyborg. Good paced story as well as fast-paced action. as well as no need for reading other series to know what is going on, something that can be read on its own.

Worth reading?: Yes
Worth waiting for Vol. 2?: Yes

Intro to The New 52 Recommendations

For the the whole year, each week I will be giving you all a review for each Vol. 1 Paperback/Hardcover book of The New 52 and recommending if you might give this book a try, or something to that might be worth reading when the next Vol. comes out.
